God is Full of Grace and Mercy

Posted by levitepriest on February 10, 2008

The lord blessed me with a word today. I was given the charge to preach aa message on Word of Faith’s 5th ministerial anniversary and The Lord sho nuff spoke to and through me. I’m completely humbled by what he said and did today. Folks told me that what was said helped and that it really had an impact and that’s all I want from a message, to know that God’s word had an affect and that someone could be changed (for the better) as a result. I think that too many times, preachers preach in order to appear a certain way or to glorify themselves. This is NOT my intent AT ALL! I’ve learned to only focus on the message and what it’s supposed to do, persuade someone to come to Him. God; I can only imagine how it makes The Lord feel when we use His platform to bring attention to ourselves. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to hurt my LORD’s feelings.

Goodie, Goodie, Gumdorps!!!

Posted by levitepriest on October 4, 2007

OK, the lil man’s here! I want to thank God. Your mercy and grace afforded us a complication free delivery and a healthy baby boy! My Wife. You leaned on God and His promises, trusted in Him and believed with me for a miracle! Our Pastors. Not only have you prayed for us but you have played an extremely key and vital role in our spiritual growth, personal development and OUR MARRIAGE! You two have taught us so much about how to have a happy and successful marriage as well as maintain a God centered family. Crystal and I praise God for the both of you, THANX! To my mom, though you probably won’t ever read this, (pray for the technologically challenged) you have been the vessel that God chose to use to make me who I am, to be a help to us in times of need and to be an awesome friend! You mean volumes to us. To our friends and extended family, thank you for your prayers and support and God bless you all! THANX everybody and pictures are soon to come.

Down to the wire…

Posted by levitepriest on September 28, 2007

OK, we went to the doctor yesterday and she told us that we were going to induce labor on this Tuesday. I am getting more and more excited about this “lil fella” as Crystal calls him. We have this little fleece potato sack thingy for him, some night gowns (and who said this was OK for a boy?), and some booties to wear home and I’m starting to get misty here… OK, I pulled it together… All in all I’m ready to see my 4th born and begin to prophesy all over him!

What the HECK am I doing???!!!

Posted by levitepriest on September 25, 2007

Is anyone out there unsure of why you’re doing what you’re doing? Are you frustrated professionally, sick of your job, but unsure about what your supposed to be doing? If so you are in a boat with a lot of folks. I know that there is a large number of people who are tired of doing what they’re doing, but haven’t the faintest idea on how to get out. So I’m going to offer five (5) steps to get out of your professional and possibly spiritual ruts:

  1. Prayer. The first thing that we have to do in order to get out of any issue or find a solution to any problem is to consult God. If you don’t have a relationship with God and you want one, feel free to email me at otis@wordoffaithcm.org and we can start a dialogue on salvation.
  2. Assessment. After you have repented of any “stuff” and The Lord has shown you that you should be, I don’t know, painting for a living instead of trying to work with kids, then you need to do an interest/career assessment (a simple google search will show several good ones) to find out where your strengths are. Anyone trying to function either professionally or spiritually in a capacity that their not gifted and called to do is wasting their time and usually someone else’s also.
  3. Education/Training. The common miss-conception is that you have to have a college degree to make a good living. This isn’t entirely true. Depending on what it is your passionate about doing for a living, you may only need certification or vocational training. What ever it is you should research the career field and determine what level of education you need.
  4. Diligence. OK, you know your destiny, you have done an assessment, you’ve received your credentials and now your ready to start looking. The most important thing needed to find employment is diligence. Look at the ant and think about how it does stuff…
  5. Take the leap of faith. It’s hard to leave what seems comfortable to us. But once you’ve made the determination that you’re going to do God’s will for your life, you only have two choices: do it, or don’t! I hope you decide to do it because there are so many benefits to being in His will (which we’ll discuss in another post)…

Once you step out and you start your new “thing” be prepared for difficulties, and trying moments. These things must come in order to prepare you for where God wants you. Just remember that God allows us to be tried in order to thoroughly purify us like gold, and he’ll never put more on you than you can bare. Let me know where you are, let’s start a dialogue…

IT’S BABY TIME!!!

Posted by levitepriest on September 20, 2007

OK, we’re coming down to what will hopefully be the last week of anticipation for Joseph’s arrival. I’m a career preparation teacher/counselor and today there was a former student who showed up with her 5 month old and the little fella really pulled on my heart strings and I can truly say that I’m starting to really get excited about our baby! My (smokin hot, pregnant) wife Crystal and I are going to do a whole bunch of stuff today in preparation and I’m psyching myself up for it. While I’m excited about holding, cooing and playing with Joseph; I’m not entirely excited about chores. But I am more than willing to keep “Boo Boo Sr.” (Crystal) from doing any work, so it looks like I’m in for a sweat filled evening. If you’ve read my wife’s blog then you know that she has a tenancy to do “too much” and it’s my job as a home Priest to protect her (even if it’s from herself). So I’ll be running a lot of interference tonight… pray for me and for Crystal to sit her behind down!
